Candle's at Night
Manifesting Illumination
Through the dark presence of shifted light of a simple candle
Becomes a glamor through time to handle
A drifted light twinkles through a wick through wax
It’s the settling mood that reacts
To the fragrance of lavender that fills the room
It places me in an essence of demeanor
To put toward my energy of adding to the coffee with creamer
For it sets the tone of any given place rather demented or graceful
Some can be used for pumpkins or set in the holder of an angel
Watch closely because it can start something to add to flame
For it’s not just in its holder it can proclaim
It takes shape in many ways through old fashion candle making
This is the dignity it drew with simple displaying
To any place you have it established through sight
A candle can also guide a lantern to flight
It determines sometimes the mood in any given situation
May have been there for the emancipation of proclamation
Through history it goes back as far as we can know it
Some say the Egyptians were the first ones to implement
But the Romans get credit for using the wick
And the Chinese made it with rice paper rolled in a stick
So it dates back more than 5000 years
The light was passed through generations through peers
To some it gave comfort on a death or remembrance
Of who or what happened to a resemblance
Tribute to the light of celebration that still burns bright
On any given day or night
That candle is a staple of magnitude of pure emotion
Through its generations of night’s devotion
