The sands of your beaches, unlike any other,
soft powder dusting your wet body
while you danced, hips swaying to the
rhythm that begets life, your graceful arms
embracing all the world
before wrapping me like a gift
for the goddess’s love, the salt
of your skin on my tongue,
caviar of my heart bursting
into delicate medleys, melodies
of you for me to taste and savor.
No feast, not even the one
celebrating my return,
my homecoming,
could compare, I would charm Morpheus
into giving me dreams of the paradise
you held me in. I do not care
what it costs. Your serpentine hips,
those coral lips whispering my own story
into the scars on my body
was everything
and more. If only
Hermes had neglected his errand,
I would languish on your shores,
forever lost in bliss, serenading myself
inside this fever dream
that forever sings
Calypso.
