An ode

I sat o’er peaks

And loch and quay

Outside the wee town

Of Pitlochry

Upon sacred ground

Amongst standing stone

And thistled paths

Where Picts once danced

Where Roman hordes halted advance

A land of towering tree

Echoes of Arthur’s Britanniæ

I sat o'er Perthshire greens

An interloper from across foreign seas

Struck by the curious notion

That the hills of Caledonia

Felt like home for thee

also by me

A/N:

Been out of pocket on holiday to Pauli's homeland. Excellent trip, hopefully more to come from it. If Scotland gets a result against Brazil today I'll buy a kilt. On top of that, wrapped up another draft of the novel which still needs a lot of work, but it's shortly off to the editor for structural review. All of that to say, don't take it personally if I haven't read your stuff.
