I carry you in a rock in my heart
What once kept me grounded
Now tears me apart
-
Each step is heavy and I stumble
My breath is hard to catch
I feel my body slowly crumble
-
So I take a pickax to my chest
Break through the calcified heart
I will rob you of your nest
-
Rivulets bleed from the open ravine
The pain splits me in two
And no one hears the silent scream
-
This heart of bone is now bereft
Removed of every trace of stone
'Til there is nothing of you left
-
The fissures close and I am whole
In time I move again
While you remain unaware of what you stole
