caged

poised for change.

too good to leave, too wounded to stay

I’ve used my favorite heart shaped shovel to dig this ditch

becoming dependent,

becoming complacent,

becoming quiet

a servant’s heart

disgracing my independent and stubborn demeanor

for someone who wants a strong independent woman

but not too strong,

or who voices opinions and feelings that oppose

or suggest a shortfall

words that can be twisted into convoluted poison

no

strong and fierce but controlled, molded

a caged fox, a pacing tiger

poised to unlock herself

sad poetry
