Cafeteria
....this we know
In the crowded cafeteria at school,
Tables full of students, itβs cool.
Some munch on sandwiches and fries,
Others dig into salads, oh my.
Nurses in the hospital lunchroom,
Grateful for this midday boon.
A quick break from saving lives,
A chance to catch up, laugh, and thrive.
Thereβs the athlete with a protein shake,
The bookworm studying for goodness sake.
A group of friends sharing jokes and food,
Others sitting alone and in a pensive mood.
The aroma of pizza, soup, and more,
Lingers in the air, a tempting score.
Empty chairs, soon to be filled,
Conversations, boisterous and thrilled.
As the bell rings, itβs time to go,
But theyβll be back, this we know.
The lunchtime crowd, diverse and bright,
Sharing meals, laughter, and delight.
