Where We Sat When We Used To Be Two.

I can sit here forever, allowing my thoughts to drown

in the flowing water.

As my thoughts flow, I think about yesterday,

when I should be thinking about today.

Yesterday, the day when you left my side;

The day when you were with her.

Maybe there is a rationale for feeling so worthless;

Maybe that is my call,

To understand I deserve better things.

The mind doesn't work,

When your thoughts go berserk,

Thinking about the day we sat here,

When we used to be two.

My thoughts pour out,

Just like every gushing ripple on this river.

What has she got that I haven't?

Was she worth it?

Did I deserve it?

I answer no to every question.

Don't think I cry as I walk away from this lonely river,

What's the point?

Everything happens for a reason,

Maybe this is a sign;

A sign that I'm worth more;

I'm worth more than the cup of poisoned love that you pour.

I breathe;

Take a deep breath,

And, I realize I can go on without you.

My heart won't be lonely forever,

And, neither will this lonely river,

Where we sat when we used to be two.
