Dear future mother in law,

You brought up the man,

I love, by hand

You’re heart,

the first rhythm, he hears

You’re arms,

the first to comfort him,

when ill

To kiss away his pain

Peace be unto you

I am,

the garment to adorn him,

He,

is the garment that protects, us

Not a knight in shining armor

More of the shield;

His compassionate,

persistence

DOES NOT yield

Folded safely in his arms

You brought up the man,

I love, by hand

Peace be unto you

I admire his creative flow

The love for his family,

consistently shows

I come into his life,

a daughter in hand

She is the outward expression

Of my heart

He welcomes her,

openly, from the start

Gathering us in his arms

By hand,

you’re generosity

is

the warmth

that blanketed,

Us

Encouraging our family,

To thrive and grow

Thank you,

for bringing him up,

To be the husband,

and father,

my family needs

His adventurous spirit,

The eloquence with words

Heeds

My respect
