Buried in Ashes

Protected by Fire

Buried in Ashes

My wall is higher,

Surrounded by fire.

I won't let them see me cry,

I'll hold my head up high.

Someday I'll be free

Never again will anyone hurt me.

They've attacked my body and soul,

Crushed my spirit,

Dousing it's fire to coal.

Violated & ruined,

Exploding in pieces,

Parts of me lay strewn…

In a pile of glue, tape, needles, and thread…

I struggle to pull myself together,

To rise again from the dead.

Covered in patches & gashes,

One day I'll rise up from the ashes.
