Built to Last, Even Without Him

Part3/3

By Unknown AnonymousPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

Please don’t say, “You’ll love again,”

Like hearts forget where they have been.

Like I ain’t crying when no one sees,

Like love just bends with every breeze.

I don’t want options, I want him,

Even if the light feels far and dim.

He’s the name I whisper in my chest,

The only one who makes me rest.

It’s not just crush — it’s something more,

He’s the one my soul adores.

His voice, his eyes, the way he moves,

It’s in the smallest things he proves.

He don’t know what he means to me,

He’s the home in all my memory.

A stranger still, but close like air,

And somehow, I just know he’s rare.

When people say, “There’s more to find,”

I wish they’d hear my heart, my mind.

They don’t know how deep this goes,

It’s not just “like” — it’s roots and grows.

He ain’t just “cute,” he’s peace and fire,

The only one I can’t retire.

No other face, no other name,

Could ever make me feel the same.

And maybe he won’t ever know,

How much I’ve prayed to not let go.

But I still talk to God each night,

Asking, “Why does this feel so right?”

Even if he never stays,

He’s still the sun in all my days.

I’m not confused, I’m not naive,

He’s the one I choose to believe.

So don’t say, “Time will make this fade,”

This love ain’t built like lemonade.

It’s steady, raw, and full of grace,

It’s him I see in every place.

He’s not just someone I walked past,

He’s the kind of love that’s built to last.

Even if he’s not mine to hold,

He’s still the warmth when nights feel cold.
