Brown

A Poem

Brown. But not brown. Not at all. More like honey in the summer when the sun hits it just right. The same color as we're driving down the road sharing memories and laughing together.

Brown. But not Brown. They're the deepest of depths. An endless void. The same color as when you stare at me with passion and something else.

Brown. But not Brown. Amber. The beautiful Amber that holds fossils like you hold secrets.

Brown. Like chocolate pudding. My favorite comfort food. It's funny to think of it like that because I easily find comfort in you.

Brown. The color of the blanket that we're wrapped in as we cuddle and laugh and enjoy each other's company. Everyone says brown is an ugly color. I guess they haven't been in my shoes.
