A poem

As I turned the pages of your old comic books,

I saw you on the pages.

Sometimes you were Captain America,

sometimes you were Superman,

But you were always the hero in my corner.

They trapped you in dungeons,

still you fought.

Over and over they would fling mud at you,

you’d wipe it off and keep going.

Even far across time and space,

you lent your strength to me.

I sat in your shoulders to see the skies,

and you flew me to the stars.

If you enjoy my poems, I have a volume of poetry available now, check it out!
