Bare walls whisper secrets, the echoes of your past,

Marks on the carpet where your treasures used to last.

The toys are in boxes, discarded, out of view,

You've moved on, changing - this world feels new.

*

Your bubble-gum pink walls are painted blood red,

A plush white carpet lies where old stains were spread.

The rooms fill with wonders, fresh, pristine, and bright,

A world reimagined, clean and alight.

*

But a toy appears, battered and torn,

Left on your doorstep, weary and forlorn.

You let it inside, heart far too kind,

Stitching it together, love misaligned.

*

This fractured plaything becomes your delight,

A marred little relic in your world so bright.

But love misplaced can wield a sharp blade,

A gun loaded with the care you gave.

*

The toy warned you softly, its whispers ignored,

Its cracks were too deep, too sharp to restore.

It broke in your hands, yet you held it tight,

Happy in the dark, blind to the fight.

*

Its jagged edges cut deep through your skin,

Scarlet blooming where hope had been.

You cried for the toy, desperate to mend,

Not seeing that destruction was its only end.

*

Your plush white carpet turned crimson-stained,

Walls once renewed now scarred and pained.

The toy slipped away, dust in the breeze,

A quiet demise, heart brought to its knees.

*

Bang went the gun, and silence fell near,

The echoes of warnings you refused to hear.

Your world now rotted, dark and decayed,

Swallowed in foggy regret where memories fade.

*

Why did you love a broken toy,

A creature of ruin, incapable of joy?

Some things are born to shatter and fall -

Donโ€™t love what was never whole at all.
