Broken promises, a shattered dream,
A heart left wounded, it would seem.
Words once spoken, now left unkept,
Leaves a bitter taste, like tears wept.
Promises made, with good intention,
But now they're gone, without mention.
Like a castle built on shifting sand,
Promises crumble, we cannot stand.
Broken promises, a heavy weight,
Leaves a mark that's hard to sate.
Trust eroded, faith now lost,
A bridge burned, at a great cost.
Broken promises, a painful sting,
Leaves a scar that's lingering.
But in the end, we will survive,
And from the ashes, we will thrive.
For though promises may come and go,
Our strength will show, and we will grow.
And with each promise, we'll be wise,
To see the truth, behind the lies.
