Broken Glass

Each piece like a knife

Broken Glass

Broken glass, a scattered mess,

Sharp reflections, nothing less.

Once was whole, now torn apart,

Like the pieces of my heart.

Step too close, the edges bite,

Memories cutting through the night.

Try to fix it, try to mend,

But some things never heal again.

Shattered whispers, lost in air,

Echoes filled with past despair.

Fingers tremble, reaching through,

But jagged edges pierce them too.

Light still dances on the cracks,

Yet time won’t bring the pieces back.

What once was clear is now unknown,

A fractured past I walk alone.
