I once had dreams as vast as the sky

As beautiful as the stars that shine up high

But now they lie shattered, broken and gone

Fading away like a forgotten song

I had dreams of love, of passion and care

Of finding someone special to always be there

But now those dreams are broken, left to die

Like a flower that withers and falls from the sky

I had dreams of success, of riches and fame

Of making a difference and leaving my name

But now those dreams are broken, shattered and torn

Like a castle that crumbles and is left forlorn

I had dreams of adventure, of traveling afar

Of exploring the world and seeing every star

But now those dreams are broken, lost and undone

Like a traveler who's lost and can't find the sun

I had dreams of peace, of a world without strife

Of a life filled with joy and a purposeful life

But now those dreams are broken, left in despair

Like a river that's dry and no longer flows there

Broken dreams are like a storm

That leaves us lost and forlorn

But in the midst of pain and strife

We can still find hope and life

For broken dreams can be a chance

To start anew and take a stance

To rebuild and find a way

To turn the night into a day

So though our dreams may be broken,

And seem beyond repair,

There's still a chance to start again,

And find a new dream to share.
