Bring me jelly.

If I grow old

Have days when

I don’t know who you are

Or think you’re the Queen

Or an angel

Or call you by another’s name

Days when I’m foul mouthed

Days when I sing love songs

Days when I dribble soup

Spit sausage or

Fire peas one by one

Bring me jelly

In the shape of a red rabbit

Sat in green jelly grass

Dribble condensed milk in my dish

Bring Arctic Roll and sherry heavy syllabubs

Trifle, fruit cocktail locked

In raspberry jelly

Playing hide and seek

under Birds custard

And contoured cream

Scatter hundreds and thousands

Tiny silver balls which I might crunch

If I have teeth

Bring me ice cream

Mister Whippy or Walls

Vanilla, chocolate, pistachio, raspberry ripple

Coffee, Honeycomb and ginger

But never strawberry

Callippos and Magnums

Bring me love

Keep our sweet memories
