Breathe

Just a moment to yourself

Stop.

Just for a moment,

Take a step back and wait.

Wait for the rising of the sun.

For the twinkling of the stars.

The moment you need to heal.

One more heartbeat.

Just one.

Breathe.

Just for a small count.

Sometimes it's all you need.

To wait for the space between one and the next.

Wait for the thundering of your heart to calm.

For the racing of your thoughts to slow.

The next breath, nice and deep.

One more, just for me.

Stand.

Just for a little.

Put your shoulders back and chin up.

Up to look back down the long, long road

To look forward to brighter days.

Look at who you are and who you've been.

A little softer at the knees.

Ease off there, just a touch.

Breathe.

Just one more, nice and deep.

Hold it close and set it free.

Free from all your worries and the rest.

From all the tension and the dark.

All the maybes and what ifs.

The next breath comes a little easier.

On the next a smile blooms.

Ready.

Just realized I shared this with everyone but forgot to comment myself. First of all, you got lucky with that image! I tried Ashley’s challenge but I hated everything unsplash offered me. Secondly, you took a pretty picture and went in a completely unexpected direction. It made me think of instances in my life where everything seemed fine on the surface, but I was struggling just to find the will to go on. We never know what anyone is going through. And looking back at all those moments I wanted to give up, I remember those moments passed. So much potential in that next breath. Great work. 👏🏼

Nicely done. Here through Naomi's recommendation paired with the tune she recommended. Good work, Alexander.
