Once more
I bury my face
Into your
Soft linen shirt
And breathe
In the smell of
Sunshine and lazy
Afternoons spent in bed.
And I wonder,
Was it worth it
All the hearts broken
To get here? I
Hold your hand
And breathe
Some more of your
Intoxicating aroma.
And I question,
Is it fair to
Assume that my
Happiness was more
Important than theirs
My heart more
Deserving? Your smell is
Stronger above your heart.
And I reason,
But of course
We must fight for
Ourselves, who else
Will fight our battles
And take our scars?
And I breathe
As your heart finally stills.
