Oh, how we are caught in the spell of the screen,
Addicted to the glow that fills our eyes,
As we sit, transfixed, by the images seen,
And lose ourselves in the stories and lies.
Television, that modern-day temptress,
With its endless streams of drama and delight,
Has ensnared us in its web of restlessness,
And robbed us of our precious time and light.
Oh, let us wake up from this hypnotic state,
And see the damage that our addiction brings,
For every hour we spend in front of the plate,
Is an hour lost, a moment unfulfilled, a soul un-sprung.
Let us turn off the screen and look around,
To the beauty and wonder that surround.
