Breaking Free

I was my self made prisoner

Breaking Free

In a room without a lock,

I stayed,

Walls built high by fears,

I made.

Dreams would knock,

but I’d decline,

Chained by thoughts that

I can’t define.

then a idea,

within me grew,

A whisper soft,

It’s up to you.

I took a step,

then one more bold,

Left behind

the fears I held

The open world

Taken in my stride,

No longer did

my spirit hide.

For every

limit I had set,

Was just a fear

I hadn’t met.

Now I chase life

my dreams I hid

I am so glad I did

The cage my home

I not there it’s gone,

thrown away at last

I’m free to be me

With each new day

God sends to me.
