Brave New World
Haiku Book Review
Dystopian tale
Caste line, where technology
Controls life. Wait, what?
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley was a must read in my sophomore year of English class at an all girls Catholic high school. There are just some books that will stay with you for your entire life. This was one of them for me. Now it is banned in many school districts for explicit content. I guess the nuns in the 1980's were ahead of themselves.

In Orwell's "1984", he mentions that there are two major super-powers other than Big Brother, and all three governments colluded with each other while pretending to their peoples to be enemies. I always thought Huxley's manipulation-through-pleasure government would have fit right alongside Orwell's surveillance-state-by-pain. Enter the "Cold War", the remnants of which we see in the China/U.S. dichotomy today. Great Haiku!
Sorry, could you repeat that? I was looking at my cell phone.
Oooo, it being banned makes me wanna read it even more, lol! Awesome Haiku-review!
