Boiler broke. Brrrr. “Bloody bastard!”

Bathtime? Banished.

Balmy bedtime? Bequeathed.

Blankets became bountiful.

Beep beep beep. “Boiler bloke?” Beckoned.

“Bonjour!” Boiler bits bagged. Blimey! Bright boy.

Benevolent, blessed - better boiler bestowed.

Beaming! Bursting! Breathe…

Bath broke. “Bugger! Blast!”

I loved this! When we lived in South Dakota, we had a radiator system that would develop these air pockets, shutting off the heat on the second floor where we didn't notice, then the main floor which took a little while to notice since heat was still rising through the floor, & finally the basement. It always happened at night in the dead of winter when the temperatures ranged from 40 to 50 degrees below zero Fahrenheit. There was only one guy who worked on them in our area, so he would work from early morning until whatever time he finished at night. He usually got around to us mid to late evening. One evening, my son & I were playing a computer game involving figuring out puzzles. He became fascinated with them & joined in for something like an hour. I have no idea what time he got home that night, but I'm guessing it was at least an hour later than planned.
