Body Drains

Because your anatomy will find a way

Drips off my bones…

like the cause of this leak

has root inside generation lies

Someone said that historical half-truths don't break down well

I am living proof

they don't break down at all

Just traverse painfully from one body system to the next

Until there ain't but one left

And I become the stench of every emotional residue

that makes noses turn up

tastes bitter and reeks rancid

smears disgust over every surface it comes in contact with

Stains that never come out

So I'm not polite anymore

I edge forward off-balance

to expel as much caustic defilement possible

at every adversary within range

Regale wretchedness that suffered at manipulation’s hands

and tied double knots in misery

as dregs pooled

and stung everywhere

Mercy for the contrite

the penitent

I see none of them present

There is no grace here

For a long time now

only repugnant waste

It drips off my bones…
