Blue Bells in the Woods

Blue bells in the woods

don’t sing for the lost

they don’t hold hands

or promise peace

They just ring

quiet and cold

like a warning

or a memory

I walked there once

thinking it was a place to heal

to find something softer

than the world had shown me

But the bells only echoed

the cracks in my heart

the spaces light refused to settle

I stayed too long

listening for a voice

that never came

and when I left

the woods kept their silence

Blue bells in the woods

are not a refuge

just another place

to face what you don’t want to see

The trees stood tall

watching without mercy

their roots tangled

like the past I tried to bury

The wind whispered secrets

I wasn’t ready to hear

truths wrapped in shadows

that clung to my skin

And still, the bells rang on

cold, clear, unyielding

reminding me

some places never forget

No one else could see these flowers,

not like I could, or hear them ring.

I understand these protected flowers

in return they Understand me too.
