Bloody Water
Water that could not cleanse, deep in bloody words

Bloody Water
The river ran with stories no one told,
A mirror stained with sorrow and old pain,
Cold currents carried words that turned to stone,
Each silent wave returned them back again.
I stood where broken skies touched darker tides,
Watching reflections drift and lose their name,
The surface looked alive beneath the dusk,
Though underneath it burned without a flame.
The water knew the weight of hidden scars,
It held the ache of years inside its flow,
No storm had formed the colour in its depth,
Some wounds are born and never truly go.
A hand once reached and vanished into red,
No echo came, no footprints marked the shore,
Only the restless rhythm of the stream,
Repeating what was lost forevermore.
The air grew thick with things left unfinished,
The banks leaned close as though they understood,
Every small ripple opened into ghosts,
And turned the ordinary into blood.
I walked away and still it followed me,
That river speaking softly through the night,
Its endless pull beneath the skin remained,
A shadow moving just outside my sight.
Some waters cleanse and leave the world renewed,
This one remembered all it ever knew,
Holding each secret in its moving veins,
Refusing to release a single truth.
Now when the rain falls heavy at my door,
I hear that distant current calling low,
A reminder that not every dark thing
Will leave once carried by the undertow.
