Listen thee well, Viking brethren -

a desperate tale comes on the heels

of the great wolf's demise.

A detachment of warriors

has stormed a sister temple

erected in the wolf’s vile name,

and were met with a resistance

bolstered by her foul magicks.

From that howling abyss

the Vikings stole that

which could melt Hel’s shackles

and bring to life the wolf’s icy form.

The warriors retreated to the shore

of the rolling plains

with their stolen prize,

the blades of grass turning to kindling

by the pursuing cultists’ deadly flames.

The yellow sea became

a scorched earth -

a field of flowers eaten alive,

melting marble defenses

and burning ashwood spikes.

Ships arrived to ferry the warriors away,

but meteors of ice descended from the sky

upon their scattered ranks,

and from within the glowing crystals

crawled out the bodies of acolytes

once thought buried.

The field of fire continues to burn -

a warning to all who would dare

to bring back that which we thought

was already dead.

This is a continuation of poetry & clues created for a treasure hunting quest series I created on the Norsing Home Valheim Server ran by EasyBoarder on Youtube & Twitch!

And if I haven't shouted it enough already, if you love videogames, I can't recommend Valheim enough!
