Like a cold hard slap

That caused an awful sting

You knew that it was coming

But you couldn’t say a thing

Oh the way it hurt

All the words he said

How my heart was aching

Such a pain was in my head

The way that he announced it

To me was rather cruel

All I did was stand there

And try to keep my cool

He said he was unhappy

I tried to see his side

I stood there and just listened

My emotions I would hide

The house will be so lonely

His room I’ll surely roam

Oh the pain a mother feels

When her baby boy leaves home

Sadly, G
