BLIND

A half truth?

As I walk through the sands of Earthly rocks,

I see so much.

I see happiness.

I see the well-clothed.

I see the disparity.

I see the affluent.

I see the children, oblivious to the cruelty.

I see people lost in thought.

I see the hidden romantics.

I see the passionless romance.

I see the passionate loners.

But in reality, I'm blind.

I'm blind to man's antics, in their well-crafted scripts.

I'm blind to their thievery.

I'm blind to their heroics.

I'm blind in more ways than one.

Even as the blind singers use words as their vision,

I use words as a way to describe my unseen darkness.

That fact itself terrifies me,

sets my soul alight.

Makes me curious about the workings of the world.

I'll never ever be able to gain vision but

I'll never let it stop me from trying.

So true - we see so much but we're blind to even more. Nice poem!
