Blessed Was I

Blessed was I the day I was lost

Found in a world battered and tossed

Plucked and saved from disparity’s sea

By this lovely lady that now resides with me

Now, she has my heart and soul

I am her pawn to have and control

She is my life and to her I give

All of my love, as long as I live

Hers is the long searched for favor

The love she gives is what I savor

The beauty she has is not just skin deep

The life she shares is a treasure keep

Every day I’m with her I give praise

And hope her love for me always stays

I cherish the time we have shared

And bless the day that we were paired

She is the only love I’ve ever known

Like one, our hearts together have grown

She knows my heart and my needs

Its eternal happiness she leads

I gladly go with her to the end

As she’s my life, my love and my friend
