I put on the halo
To try to be better
I wanted to escape him
My mind to be unfettered
By chains of yesterday
Accusations and blood stains
Revealed by sun rays
Covered up by my sweater
Emblazoned by a bright letter
A scarlet “A”
The scarlet haze
Written on my face
Reflected by the hate
In every single way
That I turned
Stomach churned
And my mind burned
With nauseous caution
In the home office
Self imposed death sentence
Totally blown off, this
Coffin has me coughing
Reaper came knocking
Bleaker than the speaker
Blown out and gone silent.
