the sands of time;

a ticking bomb.

drifting into nonexistence.

whiplash in the passenger seat;

venus mocking our mortality.

bittersweet,

like cherry pie

left on the windowsill

for too long.

flies laying eggs,

hatching maggots,

feeding on the apathy;

human's fealty to make believe

when the truth is right in front of our faces.

face it.

off to the races:

f1, kentucky derby, drag -

drag on, drag on, drag on.

trudge through the mud

drying in the hot sun

as it becomes

the sands of time.
