In the trees and on the ground, they have their fling

Some build their homes high up in the sky

Others nestle low, where they can't be spied

From the delicate twigs of a willow tree

To the sturdy branches of a sturdy oak

Birds build their nests with such care and glee

No two are the same, a wonderful stroke

And when the eggs are laid, oh how they wait

For the little ones to hatch, it's not too late

The parents work hard, day and night

To raise their young, it's such a delight

So let's appreciate the birds and their nests

For the beauty they bring, it's one of the best

Gifts nature has given us, oh so fine

Birds and their nests, they truly shine.
