Beyond the Stars
Weird, surreal, otherworldly
I looked beyond the stitched-up sky,
Where unborn constellations lie,
And saw the moon remove its face,
To show the bones of time and space.
The stars were whispering in reverse,
Old secrets from a dying universe,
While planets hung on silver thread,
Above the dreams of things long dead.
A thousand eyes began to bloom,
Like ghostly flowers in the gloom,
And something vast without a name,
Was calling me through cosmic rain.
I stepped beyond the edge of night,
Where darkness swallowed every light,
And found a door without a wall,
That knew my name before my fall.
Beyond the stars, beyond the sun,
Where time unravels, one by one,
I saw myself, yet not quite me,
A stranger in eternity.
And when I turned to journey home,
The Earth was gone, the heavens stone,
For I had seen what none should see,
And something else came back as me.
