There are oceans where her name goes unknown
There are deserts where she does not go
There are kingdoms where she has never been
For I have been to them all
To know a place that does not know her is no place to be at all
I wander this dreaded earth
Like a broken wooden trolley
On endless meandering broken tracks
Going nowhere
Hurtling towards pain,
Lurching from one disappointment to the next
Searching for her in vain
“Where is she?” I call out
As the boulder around my neck grows ever heavier
“Who? her?” They say
Will I likely ever see her again?
Will the air come back to my lungs again
Will I ever smile again?
Just to see her again requires the expertise twirling of infinite plates on my two hands
Let alone to hold her
Just to see her I must hold this earth upon my shoulders
My shoulders desire to hold this parched scorched earth and much more
If only to see her, to hold her
So that I can smile again
So that life will be filled with life again
Without her I am a plant who has not seen rain
I yearn for her whenever I go
To one day see her again
Even if that means following her to the ends of the earth
It’s where this endless journey will once more start again; to continue
Where ever she is
For I cannot be without her
Not for a moment
Not ever
She is my dear girl gone to Ireland
My sweet lass
I’ve been to hell and back
This boulder around my neck weighs heavy but not more than the love my heart beats for her
So onto the rocky road to Dublin I must go
Because truly only the heart knows
And so I follow
It back to her
My better half
