Benediction

The Summer Fields Cry Out

By J. S. WadePublished 3 years ago 1 min read
Free image, Word Swag

My Heart doth break for outpoured blood of past

The man who left his home to take my place

The lass that went to war and life did waste

For me to live as free and steal their grace.

❤️

The summer fields so green from sacrifice

Doth shine from all the stars who gave their lives

Night skies once bright turn black and now despise

The loss for gain by those who never die

❤️

The price required from all the world’s demands

Not one, nor two, or three could e’re repay

No gems, no gold, no deed, or lovely lands

Are worth the death and dark of evil days

❤️

What must I do to stop the use of sword?

Prove love to all the people of the world.

Authors note- A thousand years from now the future will view our present day as we, today, judge the Neanderthal, barbaric. We have far to go to become fully mature humans. It starts with me and you loving our neighbors of our street, our countries, our continents. It’s time.
