Beneath the Moon of Hallow’s Eve

A love story begins

Beneath the Moon of Hallow’s Eve

The shadows dance with amber light,

The air is sweet with spice and night,

When veils grow thin and worlds draw near,

I found the one I hold most dear.

Pumpkin glows cast gold on you,

The wind whispers what I know is true,

That ghosts may walk and spells may spin,

But my heart is yours, let all begin.

Beneath the moon so pale and bright,

Through mist and dark and witching night,

No charm, no spell, could ever weave

A love as true as you and me.

The bats may fly, the owls may call,

But in your arms is where I fall,

And when the night fades into dawn,

My love for you will still go on.

For Hallow’s Eve is magic, see?

But the greatest magic is you and me.

We walk where ancient branches bend,

Where jack-o’-lanterns softly tend,

Their gentle flame a quiet sign,

That every moment you are mine.

The mist may curl around our feet,

The hour turns to something sweet,

What better night could there be,

To hold you close and set you free?

The spirits pass with no alarm,

They know we feel no need of charm,

For all the wonder they could show,

Is less than what I’ve come to know.

When midnight comes and candles die,

I’ll love you still beneath the sky,

For what is night, and what is gloom,

When you are here, my brightest bloom.
