She dwells just below the surface

in retreat, beneath my skin

Extorting the smile on my face

smug since the day I let her in

Waiting for the perfect moment

to unleash her master plan

To save me from the inside

never to play the fool again

Passive aggression is her weapon

Slaying sarcasm is her gun

When I need, she quickly steps in

never one to be outdone

Like a lion on the hunt

she'll track you down and make you pay

Until you've been properly adjusted

hanging your carcass on display

She's in it too, she takes no prisoners

it's all or nothing, win or lose

Chant your prayers out to Saint Christopher

make no mistake, you'll pay your dues

We're tethered now, she's like a tattoo

she's altered me, both heart and soul

I was incomplete, but never knew it

until I let her take control
