Begging The Chef

A kind of love poem, I think

Feed me something good,

Something that will

Wake me up at three

With heartburn and bad ideas.

Or give me something

Sweet on my tongue.

Something that blurs

Nightmares into memories.

.

Make it a poison.

.

I am hungrier than usual.

Skinny from wanting

All the things I cannot have.

There are as many of those

As there are stars

In the ocean sky.

The black world of nothing.

The dead suns in my eyes.

.

Give me your dreams.

.

I'll hold them while you cook.

Watch them while you

Whip up something as divine

As it is malicious.

That is your specialty, isn't it,

This wicked duality.

What a taste it leaves!

Liquid cologne.
