On the street corners, they stand

Humble and hopeful, with outstretched hands

Their eyes meet ours, full of need

Asking for help, as they silently plead

Their stories are varied, but all the same

Families to feed, lives to reclaim

Invisible to many, ignored by most

Yet they continue to hope and to post

A dollar, a coin, a bit of spare change

Can mean the difference between joy and pain

A small gesture, but it can do so much

For someone who needs it, it's a loving touch

So let us not judge or turn away

From those who struggle day by day

A kind word, a gift of money or food

Can change someone's life and shift their mood

Street beggars may be seen as a bother

But they're human beings, just like any other

With dreams and hopes, and a need to survive

So let us show kindness and keep hope alive.
