Before You Ended Me

I managed the great escape

Before You Ended Me

You pulled at my sanity,

like you were pulling the petals from a rose.

I wouldn’t be bought or used,

so you destroyed my confidence,

my mind,

my body,

and my trust.

You watched me fold from corners inward,

left me gasping for the shape I was.

And when I bled through silence,

you said I wanted war.

I learned to whisper,

so you could hear me scream.

I learned to stand still,

so you could twist the knife cleaner.

You measured my worth

in bruises you didn’t leave,

in lies you tucked under my skin

and called protection.

There was no rescue,

only hours,

only bones,

and the echo of your smirk,

burning where mirrors used to be.

I clawed myself back,

with no name,

no map,

just rage.

I found my way out.

I ran to safety,

before you ended me.

Today I read

you got life in prison

for murdering my replacement.

God Saved Me.🙏
