Ascending thine staircase, searching for light,
For seeing thine face brings out the moon.
The stars in thine eyes are my line of sight.
We shall run far away, if thine heart has room.
Atop thine castle thee favor a rose,
Thine shadow a dancing skyline.
The moon, the stars, the sky, the rose,
Should anyone own it, how is it mine?
Should thine heart cast doubt upon us,
My promise to thee ne’er expires.
For loving me gives thee my trust,
And loving you, all your heart’s desires.
Love, lock our castle from the inside halls.
Bring arms or men, I’ll defend our walls.

Ronnie on Skates
In 2014 I spoke with Tommie Sue Fincher-Fleming, a woman who knew my grandfather who passed in 2010. She told me how all the girls loved him. My great-grandparents owned a skating rink in Bridge City, Tx and she had the opportunity to skate with him in his younger days. Upon reaching out to her today for more stories, we learned she passed in 2018. I always thought her words were so beautiful, and it's a privilege to be able to put them into sonnet form.

Fangs of Light
This story is a continuation of the Tales of Ezok that began in "The Precipice." Reading this story and its companion "Whispers and Whisps" is not required to enjoy this story, but they will each add layers to the character we see here and I would be remiss to not mention them at the very least.
