Ballroom

A dance with an idea

He has sunset eyes, the kind that expose burning wildfires,

And it's an impossible tease trying to figure out where I fit

Inside that crowded ballroom of a memory system where

Pleasant faces cross into forgetfulness and odd ones stand out.

.

The odd ones always stand out.

.

And the obsessed? Where do they fall? At the feet of their idols.

They fall hard and they fall bloody, but oh, what a show it is!

A collapse of all that could have been, like a star imploding in their chest,

How he loves to watch their supernovas destroy them down at his feet.

.

That he won't ever forget.
