Balance

Amongst the darkness, I have learned how to reach for the stars.

Sometimes the sun doesn't shine through the windows of my soul

But that's okay

I'm beautifully balanced💖

If there were no darkness, I wouldn't know the difference between itself and light

Everything would feel normal

All the time, day and night.

Because amongst the darkness,

I've learned how to reach for the stars.

If all of the things in this life were bright

Then I wouldn't be able to see

I'd be blinded

By light.

Too much of anything is a bad thing, so I aspire to embrace both.

One cannot be truly happy living blindly.

Not knowing passion,

Fall into that grave, baby.

Look for the sky

See the flowers peeking down at your tired, sore body

They reach out their hands

The stars join in

Feel them lift your body, heart and soul out of the black pits

They can do this now...

Because you can finally see.

We are meant to embrace balance

Not one or the other
