You take me back to summer days

You take me back to summer days

The trickle of rain and sway of trees,

To long car rides, where old music plays

Chirps of the crickets and the buzz of honey bees,

.

Through soft shared secrets under the moons gentle glow,

Under midnights disguise we shared rhythms and rhymes,

While peepers sung serenades we all have grown to know

As these memories are threatened by the flow of time

.

But slowly you fade away,

Your hand no longer clutched in mine,

So even as the band of night creatures play

I find how garish these summer thoughts make me resign

So on these hot summer days, I find my self hidden

All I wish is for the rain to return, for our summer love is forbidden
