Autumn

Fall Hard

By Rebecca ClairePublished 7 years ago 1 min read

I woke up today and realized that I had missed the Fall

The leaves were already on the ground, having descended while I spent my days unboxing Christmas ornaments at the store

The crisp Autumn air that leaves your cheeks stained pink had turned my nose bitter cold, and I noticed that my nose was running before I hit the end of my block

But unlike most moments of realizing that everything must come to an end, I know now that this is only a sign of the changing seasons

Things change

I've changed

And now I know that I'll have another chance come September of next year

And I'll look at the world with new eyes

Eyes that know the importance of the past, appreciating the uncertainty of the future
