When the Audience Claps

A poem

When the audience claps

We, the performers, feel appreciated

If the audience didn’t clap

We, the actors, would feel the gloom

With not a single clap in the room

When the audience claps

The performance gets a boost

We, on stage, feel the high

With the audience we feel so good

When audiences cheer and root for us,

We do our best

Somewhere we feel

We want to keep performing for them until we have to rest,

That’s why audiences are such a great part of the performance,

Interacting with them makes everything worth every pence!
