Some might be happy

To be broken

Some might be frustrated

And some might be

Sad

But this one is quite a

Twist:

Once there was a guy

Now this guy was a prince

He had everything that he wanted

Or so they thought…

The prince wanted one thing he couldn’t have:

Love

Now you might say:

“But he’s a prince!”

Well…

This prince had a curse upon him

A curse that has run through the family

He wanted to love

But he was afraid to

“But his parents love each other, right?”

Well...No, they don’t

They only married to stop

War

Well, that’s how most marriages in the kingdom go

But this prince…

Well, he was different

One day, this prince walked away from his kingdom

He walked into the woods

Where he found the most beautiful girl he has ever seen:

The farmer’s daughter

Yes, she was quite a

Beauty

A hard worker she was

And a loving heart she had

But when she saw the prince

Her heart twisted into

Rage

“How dare you come here?”

The prince was confused

“How do you mean?”

“How dare you come back, when you never wanted me?”

At her words, his heart twisted

He gasped, falling to the cold, hard

Ground

“What-?”

“I told you to never come back! I told you that the curse will hurt most when you come back!”

The prince tried to speak

But no words came

Flashes came before his eyes

Flashes of the day she-

She!-The farmer’s daughter!-

Set the curse upon his family

Years ago…

Yes…

She is immortal

The prince clutched at his chest

Aching for the pain to stop

“You broke my heart years ago Prince…

And you shall suffer for what you have done…

Be gone!”

At her cold-hearted words

The prince watched as his body turned away to

Ashes

His eyes wide, mouth open…

Ashes here, ashes there…

The only thing left on the ground

Was his still beating

Heart

The farmer’s daughter picked it up

And held it close to her…
