Arranging Love: A Triolet

A short poem

When will love's flower bloom?

When the ice around my tear-stained heart melts?

When my vision clears the clouds of doom?

When will love's flower bloom?

When the arranged marriage looms,

Like a punch below the belt.

When will love's flower bloom?

When the ice around my tear-stained heart melts.

Backstory: I was in my creative writing/English class back in high school when I made this. We were learning poems and reading Romeo and Juliet. We were told if we used love as a prompt we would get extra points. However, I didn't want to do regular roses are red stuff, so I chose a forced arranged love to write. I also wanted to attempt a new kind of poem, so I attempted a triolet.

Side note: Yes, I got the extra points, but didn't get a 100 because I didn't realize there was a word count on the assignment. Still got a B though.
