April Snow

A symbol of nature’s desire to endure

white wigged weeping willow wannabe

Crabapple in full flowery bloom

covered with fresh blanket of snow

Branches drooping to the ground

straining, bending, touching

Will this white wigged weeping willow wannabe

snap, or will it endure?

Like the willow tree it's imitating,

will it adjust and mimic the willow tree’s flexibility?

Adapting to its environment and enduring

As irresponsible as we tend to be

in this imperfect world

what diet of today’s indigestion

yielding confusion

is needed for a more

temperate and enduring constitution?

Grant us grace and ingenuity

Gift us insights in sustainability

Help us clean

our lands and oceans

Help us correct

our climate changing notions

Countering environmental degradation

fosters a fertile foundation

for social succorance

and human harmonization

Please help us endure like this

white wigged weeping willow wannabe
